Theater for kids

Rags to Riches Theatre for Young Audiences has been around for 15 years. Run by a husband-and-wife team in Durham, the traveling group has performed all over the Triangle, often drawing big audiences at the Carrboro ArtsCenter, local libraries and other spots. Expect lots of opportunities for audience participation. And they're used to squirmy preschoolers.

They've got a few dates coming up. Next week, they'll be performing shows at different Durham libraries. Go to the library Web site and click on "new program calendar" for exact times and locations.

On April 25, the group will perform "Caught in the Web," a collection of Ananse Spider Tales from Africa at 10 a.m. at Duke Memorial United Methodist Church, 504 W. Chapel Hill St., in Durham. Tickets are $5 for everyone age 2 and up.

At 4:30 p.m. on May 4, they'll be at the Broad Street Cafe, 1116 Broad St., in Durham, to perform "The Paul Bunyan Tales." Tickets are $5 at the door.
