C. with a good book.
I'd love to say with a nap but my little girl has a built-in nap alarm that goes off when my eyes close.
A. I totally love my 'me time'
A spa day is my favorite way to relax.
Reality is with a good book. When I can splurge, any spa treatment.
B or D but would love to try A. will they wake me if I start snoring during the facial?
F. I like to knit, although as a new knitter I sometimes find it to be stressful in itself!
B. Glass of wine
First chocolate, then wine, then read a good book until I fall asleep...and then realize I was only dreaming about having time to do all of this!
E. Relax? Who has time for that?
B. A glass of wine, chocolate
E. Relax, Who has time for that
F. Other A nice long walk around Lake Lynn always relaxes me. Sometimes I go around twice depending on how stressed I am!
D. A nap
C. A good book, God bless the library system! Thousands of choices and they are all free! You can even get audio books so that while you're waiting in carpool or driving from activity to activity you can enjoy!
I usually find that playing a few games of Spider Solitaire or Free Cell not only relaxes me but challenges my mind. I also love to read and watch a good old movie on the telly.
I don't get time to relax - with a full time job...a husband, 1 pre-teen and 4 teenagers - there is never down time. I'm 37 years old and my docs say i really need to slow down and take care of me...but I don't know how to do that. I take care of others...that's what I do...that's what mom's do. I have already had a heart attack at the age of 32 and triple by-pass open-heart surgery at the age of 36 and I still haven't figured out how to RELAX and have a "ME" moment. :(
C. Relaxing with a good book, although this comes far and few between the business of life. I have to say, however, the spa treatment seems like a great way to relax also. I've never had such a treat!
A. Mani, pedi, other spa treatment - Love a spa treatment :-)
F. I play with my new soft puppy, "Moxie". Nothing like the joy of a new puppy!
though I could have anwered all of a.b.c.d.e. --at some time.
A nap....during a facial!
mwagner, you have been through a lot! I hope you figure out a way to relax, so you can be here to enjoy your children and grandchildren for years to come.
Four kids under age 7....not too much time for relaxing!! I do love to read...in the sun, by the pool....better yet a nice calm beach...on an island...ahhhh
A normal day would be to lay down on the couch and watch my favorite tv show. But, on those special days (which are rare), I love a pedicure or massage!
I generally do not relax, as it's not in my nature. But I have found that a glass of wine helps settle me. Spa treatments are also relaxing, when I have time.
E. Relax? Who has time for that
A long day on the couch in front of mindless t.v. is total relaxation for me
B! Chocolate anytime please!
I actually relax by exercising. The exercising itself isn't always relaxing but the effects afterwards are!
A. pedicure at my favorite spa
A. Mani, pedi, other spa treatment
I have only had a couple spa treatments but I loved every minute of them. It is so nice to go and just relax without the kids or husband calling my name and asking 1000 questions. I feel so refreshed afterwards.
A. Mani, pedi, other spa treatment whenever possible.
E and F In addition to being a wife of 2 children ages 5 and 7, and a wife I am a full-time employee and part-time student. At times I think I go back to work to relax, other times I wonder what it would actually feel like to have any time to relax. A spa treatment sure would enable me to find out.
Hard to relax these days with all that's going on..... my choice would be any of the above, given the day and the amount of stress!!
I retreat to the bedroom for my book and a glass of wine.
nap, nap, nap. I sleep when the baby sleeps
A glass of wine and a good book !
E. Relax? Who has time for that?
It is impossible to relax with 2.5 weeks left until my baby arrives!
Do I have to pick just one?
Most days, it's a good book, but there are some times when only a mani/pedi will do.
manicure, pedicure, spa treatment
Usually reading or a glass of wine, but I wish I were able to do spa treatments more often!
I could relax by A,B,C or D. Or better yet, A,B,C at the same time, followed by a nice long D. Of course, all of these require time alone which is really my most coveted luxury...if I have that, i can make almost anything relaxing!
C. A good book is good for me!
C. Reading a good book.
I'm going to go with either B or E. Usually, there is no time for relaxing! But every once in a while, I will have a glass of wine after the kids go to bed and let the housework go until the next day.
Ahhhhh.....
F & C: I do 30 minutes of my PT exercises, drink a huge glass of waterthen settle into my comfy recliner and read for about 20-30 minutes.Ah-h-h-h!
C: a good, good book.
but a good, good book is even better with a glass of wine, which is even better before a nap
...so can we get an "all of the above" option?
Definitely E! With two jobs, college and 3 kids - there's NO time. It would be nice to win the facial...then at least my face would like nice after I pull out all my hair.
I love a walk on the beach when I can get there. If not exercise, a good book, some wine, a good movie , a pedicure are all wonderful when I can find the time.
B - without a doubt!
F. I say all above. Everyone should find a time for themself even if it's only 15 minutes a day. I am lucky if I can get 45 minutes a day for myself.
A and C!!! It's a tie!!!
I usually take a nap during a mani, pedi, or other spa treatment.
F. Travel! A getaway is great for relaxing because the work and stress stays at home!
F. Travel! A getaway is great for relaxing because the work and stress stays at home!
D. A nap
Just heard my company is planning layoffs for next week so no naps for me anytime soon. Scary.
A good book with a chocolate treat works great !
I'd say B & C. Although it's been some time since I relaxed, I manage to fit the chocolate in, anyway! Y'know what they say, "A day without chocolate . . . "
:-)
E. As a full-time mom with a part-time office job (and no formal childcare arrangements), there always seems to be something I should be doing. Which is why I often resort to B (mostly chocolate), so I can enjoy some sort of treat while I'm doing some other task. But, this is a new year and I'm trying to make more time for ME, which is why I would love some spa time.
e. i am a stay at home mom of a teenager and a 10 year old, i also keep kids. no rest in site!!!
My favorite relaxation - Sitting in a comfy chair curled under a blanket in front of the fireplace, with my cat on my lap, a good book and a steaming cup of tea.
Relax - who has time for that?? :) I do love to read and scrapbook whenever there is a spare moment. Exercise is also a great way to unwind for me!
oh my gosh, someone said the beach. YES. If only I lived near the beach ... a nice walk on the beach or even a quick breath of the beach air... Now that's relaxing! That's grounding.
Although I would love to do D. A nap but with a very active 16 month old son E. (Relax? Who has time for that?) really apply to me.
TCJOHNSON
F: Other. My child got me hooked on Webkinz about a year ago. I love to sit with my laptop in the living room playing with my virtual pets while watching TV in the evenings.
Hmmm...my favorite way to relax and it really helps me unwind and get a clear head is to go for a long run. It challenges me physically, I can listen to a good book on my ipod, and when I return home I have a natural "high" that automatically puts me in a better mood and I'm much more calm and relaxed with tons more patience.
Veg out with a good movie or "24" episode.
A glass of wine in front of the fire or on the deck in the summer along with a my husband, a good book or a crosswork puzzle.
B. A glass of wine and/or chocolate. Wine usually wins!
The question: How do you relax?
I crochet with a glass of wine.
Massage is the best. But, since I can't afford a massage a day, let's go with a good book, stitching, or a funny movie.
Warm bath, glass of wine, and a trashy magazine
A- definately a must sometimes
C. A good book often leads to a good nap (D)
I love to sit back, read a book and have a glass of wine. When all else fails I settle for a good movie on lifetime.
A, C or D depending on time and/or $$$ available.
A glass of wine is a something I can pertake of more often to relax, but I definitely need my spa treatment with a manicure and pedicure for the ultimate way to relax and do something for me.
Relax??...a glass...oops bottle of wine...after walking with my best bud, Chopper.
Massage, mani/pedi, spa treatment and a good book are my favorites!
A glass of wine.
Good book and glass of wine!
F - attend my favorite work out class
F. Other - I exercise in some way - brisk walk or swim can be the best relaxation
I live to ride, I ride to live...horseback riding!
C. With a good book and a hot cup of tea
A
A Nap. I love to sleep
WHen there is a oppurtunity to relax(rare) I take it. Any way shape or form:)
F. Reading aloud to my children. I love that they will sit listening so intently and I find myself really getting into the story too.
My answer is C. Good luck ladies. We all deserve it.
C. is the way I would like to relax! I don't get a whole lot of relaxing time. I teach 1st grade and have an almost 2 year old at home. I wouldn't trade it for anything, but I keep very busy.
Mostly "E" who has time to relax?
B. when I do find a little time.
C. a good book... if I can *find* time to relax (and a good book!)
I love to relax with a nice glass of red wine (good for the heart, don't you know) and some time with my husband.
A. Facial- spa treatment
C. Jane Brody said: "Real luxury is time and opportunity to read for pleasure".
Well I like to relax with a nap. That always makes me feel better, but a good book can help too.
I relax by letting my creative side loose and scrapbooking - the creative process is relaxing and when I scrapbook I get to relive some great memories!
The question: How do you relax?
A. Mani, pedi, other spa treatment
A & C - reading a good book while getting a pedicure!
E. Relax? Who has time for that?
C. With a good book or People Magazine
I would definitely choose E. I am a mother of 2, a 4 year old and a 14 month old. I work full time and also so to Wake Tech full time. I never have time for myself! I could use a refreshing "me" time!
NOTHING BEATS A DEEP CALF AND FOOT MASSAGE ALONG WITH A SOAKING HOT PEDICURE!!
Glass of wine works for me, or two or...
E. Relax?? who has time for that. Unfortunately that's true. I enjoy any place/time that is quiet.
I love a good mani and pedi...makes me feel like I'm in college again!!!
Reading a good book in a hot bath while drinking a cup of tea
E. Who has time to relax? I thought when all my kids were grown (26, 23 and 19 now) that I would be living the life with a weekly mani/pedi, matinee with friends, dinner out on Friday nights...but NO! just working full-time now and doing all the things on nights and weekends that I don't have time to do during the day! If I won the facial, then I would HAVE to make time for it. Calgon, take me away! :-)
Totally E! Between an 60 hour a week job and a toddler at home a facial would bring me back to life (or at least my face).
Everything on the list works for me! Just not as often as I would like :-).
A. Mani, Pedi or other spa treatment.
Haven't had the luxury of going to a spa since the birth of my daughter however on occasion I try to pamper myself after she goes to bed with my own mini facials and skin treatments. It allows me to feel human again and benefits my skin ; )
With a good book. Nothing relaxes me better than curling up in my bed and letting my imagination run wild with a good read--especially before going to sleep.
Actually now that I think of it, all apply ; )
A. Pedicure. Nothing beats it.
a glass of wine, a soak in the tub, a good book and a massage from my husband. Ahhhh.
A walk on the beach and see all the wonderful thinks that God has made.
A good book, a long walk, a pedicure. All are great.
E. My wife Cyndi was recently laid off from a clinical research company in late October 2008. She has decided to not go back into that career field and is now pursuing a Masters Degree in Education. She is juggling a lot right now, being my wife, a mother to our beautiful daughter and a full time graduate student. She could really use this prize to keep here nerves in check.
Walking on the beach and worship God.
Walking on the beach and worship God.
I look longingly at my jacuzzi tub and wish I had time to soak, but instead I play Sudoku - one game inside the N&O at the end of the day. I'm planning a spa treatment soon!
TeresaJesq, Mommy to Lucas (6/04) and Tatum (6/08)
Walking on the beach and a good book.
Perhaps a glass of wine, a good book and then a nap!? A facial would certainly do the trick, also!
Prefer A and I do get to do that every so often, but for a cheap way to relax, I try to fit in D once a week or so.
C. A good book. Thanks to the wonderful Wake County Library System, we have good books in abundance!
F. I'm a sucker for good TV with a glass of wine (or a beer) after the kiddos are in bed.
F. Nothing relaxes me more than doing yoga. As a mother of two and a fourth grade teacher, I need to de-stress so that I can relax!
I'm just posting to try to win the facial. Good luck to everyone!
I normally relax with a magazine and a bubble bath, but a nice facial sounds even better!
Gosh, any of those!
A good book, a nap, chocolate, exercise have to top the list. I'm not sure I could rank those in order of relaxation potential -- they each have their place.
Wine, pedicure treament is on the second tier, though not too far from the first!
A facial is a wonderful way to relax! Let someone else pamper you and take care of you for a change!
I put on shorts, t-shirt and my Pedometer and do a 45 mionute cardio walk. I cannot believe how it clears my mind and allows me to "ME" time. NOONE can keep up with me!
I would have to say E. but if I could I would do D. with 2 kids and a full time job it is kind of hard to fine time.
glass of wine and a good book (wish i had time to get to the library or bookstore!). would love to try a facial......
Ahhhh, spaaaaa
Hmmm...depends on the day. When it's rainy I love a nice long nap, if it's cold outside I enjoy reading a good book by the fireplace, if the weather is nice I can relax throwing clay on my pottery wheel outside in the barn, and spa treaments are nice any time or any place! :O)
walk the doggie
When given the chance I love to cuddle up & take a nap with my kids!
With a good book
All of the above! Sometimes a nap and a facial at the same time!
C. A good book takes me away from the day-to-day grind and off to places I can only dream about.
A swedish massage is most relaxing for me; a skilled massuse can put me to sleep on the table.
R_E_L_A_X
Close my eyes and take deep breaths.
I like to relax by spending time outside with my daughter playing at the park or riding bikes around Lake Pine. All of these lets my wife relax because we are out of her space and she can do whatever she wants or needs to do without interference from us!! I love it when she gets to relax!!!
I agree; any of them would be relaxing; finding the time to do them is the problem.
"A" is definitely my preferred way to relax--if I'm out of the house, away from my darling "distractions", then it's finally "me" time. The reality of it is that "E" is my everyday!
A, B, and D
F....Sitting on the beach listening to the sounds of the ocean...it calms my mind and fills my soul. Unfortunately it doesn't happen often enough!
F. Other all of the above depending on my mood. I absolutely love to read and will never turn down some pampering or a chance to catch up on zzz when needed but I guess my #1 way to relax is to do all my crafts. I absolutely love making things so that is usually the first thing I pull out when I put my daughter to sleep.
All of them sound terrific, but I have to answer 'F'. Corny as it sounds, doing the N&O puzzle page is my rare relaxation moment! Nothing says, "Aha, I still have brain cells left!" like figuring out a Jumble in less than a minute. Actually finishing a "HARD" Sudoku puzzle means I had uninterrupted "me-time", a real treat!!
I have to make time to relax! This means losing myself in something that soothes my senses ... listening to music, petting my soft fluffy dogs, looking closely at a flower or plant especially if pinching it releases a great scent, like rosemary. The feel of a facial or massage is a great sensory journey (even if it's me washing my own face)!
