What do your kids do when YOU'RE sick???
What do your kids do when you're sick?
Yes, the obvious answer is "watch tv", but there has got to be something else, right?
I had strep throat a week ago, and I'm still not feeling well. How do I keep a 4 and 2 year old entertained at home when I have no energy???

Aside from abusing the TV (admittedly my choice), you can try:
1. Giving the kids huge tupperwares full of water or beans, and letting them scoop, spill and stack 'til their hearts content. This works best if you have a porch or a deck that you don't mind getting wet;
2. Bribe your husband to go to the dollar store and pick up a handful of jigsaw puzzles. These will keep my daughter (2.5) entertained for an hour at a time;
3. Put on some music and tell them to have a dance party;
4. Try to convince them to play with Play-Doh;
5. Cuddle on the sofa and read books (let each take a turn picking a book, if that makes it easier).
Hope you feel better soon!
Make it easy on yourself.First of all, save all of your energy for the necesities, let the laundry, dishes(try to use paper and plastics until you feel better) wait. Make mealtimes easy for you, like, bagels, cereal, fruit, and let them have a picnic while watching a movie(you can lie on the floor next to them and rest.) With some rest you will be feeling back to yourself in no time! Good luck!
Thanks for the great ideas. Last week they had a marathon of TV and I felt so bad that we had done that. I'd like them to be a little constructive and creative, even if I'm not up to par!
