Why I Want My Husband to Leave Me

When you first get married, you imagine it will be forever, and that you will do whatever it takes to keep that marriage forever.

I used to think that too, but I've changed my mind.

Just today, the remains of Army nurse Holley Wimunc were found in Oslow County. Her husband was charged with her murder. This past Saturday, Jakiem Wilson received a life sentence for stabbing his wife , Nneka, last October.

A few months ago, Harish Patel of Cary was charged with his wife Vanlata. Her charred remains were found near a highway in Virginia.

All of these women were mothers. The men were fathers. (In fact, Nneka and Jakiem's children were in the house at the time of the killing.) So not only did the husbands and fathers take away their children's mothers, they committed the murders in horrific ways. You could almost have a moment of understanding for someone who, in a moment of blind rage, shoots someone with a gun. But to kill your children's mother, hide/burn/disrespect her body in such a way is simply sick.

I love my husband, and I'm pretty sure he loves me, but we've got to have an understanding that if our life together ever gets so bad that murder is in his eye, please, clean out the bank accounts, take the car (leave the children) and just walk away.

It's scary how much bad news there has been in this regard. I read somewhere that pregnant women especially often are targeted. I just can't imagine.

What a GREAT post. And yes, "One of the leading causes of death among Pregnant Women now seems to be homicide."

And sadly, women murder too - Ann Miller orphaned her child right here in Raleigh.

It's called d-i-v-o-r-c-e people!
