Win Free Ballet Tickets!!

THE CONTEST IS CLOSED! Thanks so much to everyone for participating. Congratulations to our winners.

Today, TriangleMom2Mom snagged two family four packs of tickets to the Carolina Ballet's Artistic Expressions, which starts Thursday and runs through Sunday.

We've got one four pack of tickets each for the 2 p.m. shows on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets to the award-winning Carolina Ballet start around $20 and go up to $63, so this would be a great way to introduce your kids to ballet. And it's free!

So how do you win? Answer the following question by just posting a comment in this forum. You must be registered to comment. Registering is quick, easy and free. Just go to the top of this page and click "Join Us." (Your newsobserver.com or triangle.com user ID and password will work here too).

The question: What's your favorite dance studio/class/program in the Triangle for kids? (And for those who don't have a favorite, what's your favorite dance at a wedding - the chicken? electric slide?)

This is a quick contest. You must post your answer by 9 a.m., Friday, Sept. 19. Winners will be chosen at random on Friday morning.

I highly recommend Raleigh School of Ballet .... my daughter is starting her fourth year and loves it. The ideal combination: professional approach to the training and management, but a great, warm "vibe." Kids can get great training and preparation if they want to pursue ballet seriously, or they can just take classes for the love of dance....

I love the Raleigh School of Ballet. Both of our girls have gone there. We love the classical instruction and the fact that they do not have all of the over the top performances.

CC Dance Company in Raleigh. The teachers really love what they do and they've got a great 4 year old program with tap, jazz and ballet that my daughter adores. She couldn't sleep she was so excited about the shoes for class.

Definitely Holly Springs School of Dance. We tried another program in Cary, but it was too "stuffy and serious". At Holly Springs, the emphasis is on FUN, but the children learn as much or more because it is fun. The teachers are wonderful and the kids are encouraged to be confident and poised in their own skin. It is a wonderful place!

Dance Art Studio - Garner is wonderful. Ms. Amber is great in working with the ins and outs of the studio, while Ms. Cheri works the girls hard to be the best that they can be. My daughter is a senior this year and loves going to dance classes more than ever. DM

We are creating a great admiration for the Raleigh School of Ballet.
My daughter loves her teacher, and the adminstration was so wonderful
with helping enroll my daughter. Due to my hectic and long commute.
Two cheers for Raleigh School of Ballet.

I have to recommend Triangle Academy of Dance. My daughter wanted to start ballet at 2-1/2 and they allowed her to do a ballet class on her own, not a mommie and me class, and we have been with them since. The instructors are great, professional, and fun. She is now in ballet/jazz and is thriving. We drive over 20 minutes and pass many other studios on our way, but know that it is worth it. They do not have a "recital" for the younger kids, just an observation class where the family comes into the studio and observes. It is wonderful. The staff are honest and work with you. Thankfully, they welcomed her when she began to be interested in ballet and have continued to encourage her so much that my daughter, at the age of 4, is already planning (or hoping) to be in the Nutcracker when she is old enough to try out. I really cannot say enough kind words about this studio. We love Triangle Academy of Dance in Cary!!

My favorite dance studio is the Raleigh School of Ballet, which also has Raleigh Dance Theatre. On November 1st and 2nd, Raleigh Dance Theatre will perform Storybook Tales featuring Snowwhite and Fancy Nancy. They always put on an awesome show. You can call 834-1058 for info and tickets.

Field of Dreams (www.fodnc.com) is a great dance studio for all skill levels. The teachers are amazing and the kids that go their aren't clickish or competitive. My two daughters have been taking classes there for three years and I wouldn't think of switching studios. We drive 25 minutes and it is so worth the time. Our entire family is excited to be involved in the studios first production of Nutcracker this year. If you're looking for great training for your kids or yourself in one of our fun adult classes, give Field of Dreams a try.

My daughter has danced with other studios and they just do recreational dancing --learning routine after routine but starting her second year at Raleigh School of Ballet --we have found that if you are serious about dancing then this is where you need to be ---she has learned so much -more in the pasted year than she did after 7 years at other studios- I wish that we had found Raleigh School of Ballet sooner in my daughters dancing career ---she just loves it and all the girls are very nice ---The teachers are great and will work with you and your dancer--- So I believe that the BEST dance school would be Raleigh School of Ballet

My 3 year old daughter dances at Alicia's School of Performing Arts in Benson and loves Mrs. Alicia & Mrs. Marilyn her teachers. We have had a very rewarding experience there. She loves the chicken dance also!

City Ballet is the very best ballet school in the Triangle. Sandra Zellinger, Director of City Ballet, offers the best in dance instruction at her school. All of the Dance Instructor really care about each and every student. The Nutcracker Performance is absolutely beautiful and the production is very professional. Both of my girls attend City Ballet and have fallen in love with the Cecchetti Method.

Rejoice Academy and Performing Arts Center is my choice for the best. My son started in the Academy there three years ago and the thought of dancing was a joke to him. Slowly he got involved in the performing arts center and today three years later he is taking over nine dance classes and has been selected for their Dance Ministry team. He will be performing with them in New York in April.

Graceful Expressions Dance Education in Cary! I must admit I'm a bit biased, being the husband of the owner and the father of a five-year-old dancer. :)

Nina's School of Dance in Durham, NC. Nina was teaching dance when I was a little girl, and now my little girl takes dance there. I always thought Nina was a little harsh, but the girls all love her.

The Raleigh School of Ballet is an excellent choice for the serious classical ballet student. My daughter has been a student there for 11 years and would not consider leaving. The focus is on technique not "shows". For performance training, Raleigh Dance Theatre, the affiliate pre-professional company is second to none.
