The Durham school system offers a special program for parents and rising kindergarteners who are riding the bus for the first time. Sessions are at 8:30 a.m., 9 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 10 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

Kids and parents will take a short bus ride and learn safety tips, parents can confirm their child's bus schedule and get their picture taken with Dottie, the DPS kindergarten mascot, and Buster, the baby bus (who knew they existed?).

Levity III, part of England's Architects of Air, will be up from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, at Lichtin Plaza in downtown Raleigh. Tickets are $5 for ages 4 and up.
