N.C. State fans will pack Hillsborough Street for the annual Homecoming Parade. But you don't have to be a State fan to enjoy this parade. Kids will love the scene with live music, floats and maybe some giveaways.

Bring the family to the N.C. Museum of Art for some Friday night fun. Travel to Europe on a self-guided tour where you'll meet different people from Italy, Holland, Spain and France. Then drop in to Studio One and create a postcard of your European visit.

Marbles Kids Museum will be celebrating Halloween on Friday and Saturday with lots of crafts and other activities all day. Kids will be able to decorate pumpkins, build a scarecrow and print with vegetables. A Pumpkin Scavenger Hunt is self-led and ongoing in Castaway Cove. Marbles will be dressed up in their Halloween best both days.

Free admission to Kidzu Children's Museum to anyone wearing a costume. Celebrate fall and the holiday with crafts and games. A spooky storytime is at 10:30 a.m.

Halloween signs will be posted in the windows of participating stores at North Hills. The event goes until closing - which is around 6 p.m. for many stores.

A reader passed on information about this fun event — Garner parks' Goblins in the Park. Celebrate Halloween at Lake Benson Park with crafts, carnival games, hay rides, a haunted trail and a costume contest. If it rains, goodie bags will be given out under the large shelter between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.

A not-so-scary, but still ghostly walking tour of Hillsborough's Historic District. Hour-long tours leave from the Alexander Dickson House at 7 p.m., 7:30 p.m., 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance (credit card only if you're buying in advance).

Put the kids to bed, get a babysitter,  grab your date and head out to this charity ball, which raises money for the St. Baldrick's Foundation, a nonprofit that raises money and awareness about childhood cancer.
