On Saturday, Nov. 1 from 9AM-3PM, Peek-a-Do! the salon for kids will be celebrating its third birthday by having a fundraiser and book drive for Mrs. Reuther's classroom at Club Blvd. Elementary!  The classroom was destroyed by fire on Oct. 8 and Mrs. Reuther needs our help to get the supplies she needs to help her students learn.  Mrs. Reuther has been teaching in Durham Public Schools for 18 years and has touched the lives of hundreds of children.  Please help us to get her the supplies she needs to teach hundreds more!

Marbles Kids Museum will be celebrating Halloween on Friday and Saturday with lots of crafts and other activities all day. Marbles will be dressed up in their Halloween best both days.

Grey Seal Puppets performs "Salsa Cinderella" at the Doris Duke Center at the Sarah P. Duke Gardens. We saw this production last spring in Raleigh and my three-year-old loved it. It's the classic Cinderella tale only all the characters are the ingredients for salsa. Very funny.

Falls River Town Center, located 1.5 miles from the intersection of Falls of the Neuse and Durant Road in Raleigh near I-540, is hosting a free festival and food drive Friday, November 7 to benefit the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. The outdoor festival will feature cover band Mo Jones: Pleasure to Burn. Guests are encouraged to bring two non-perishable food items as entry. For the event, Kido's is offering free childcare for the first ten customers, and Tone Up Raleigh is providing free childcare and showing a movie for kids ages six to 12.

Tickets were to go on sale today for the annual favorite - the Museum of Life and Science's Santa Train. This year, there are 15 nights (five more than last year). The special nighttime train features lots of holiday lights, music, crafts and other fun.

But a glitch has forced the museum to set back the date to Nov. 15 at 10 a.m.

The train departs every 20 minutes from 5:40 p.m. to 8:20 p.m. on Dec. 3-7, Dec. 10-14 and Dec. 17-21.
