Helen Thayer, author, photographer and adventurer, makes a special appearance at Marbles Kids Museum on December 2 at 10:30 and noon to share exciting stories of her expeditions to the far reaches of the world! In 1988, New Zealand born Helen became the first woman to walk and ski to either of the world's poles when she trekked solo to the Magnetic North Pole without a dog sled or snowmobile. She was also the first woman and first American to circumnavigate the Magnetic North Pole. Her engaging presentation will thrill the young and old alike! Start: 11:00 am

A Christmas tradition in Durham. The concert is at 7 p.m. on Dec. 2 at Duke Chapel, but concert goers should get there as early as 6 p.m. to get seats. The only admission cost is one nonperishable food item.
The chorale sings some of the pieces, but the audience will have plenty of opportunities to sing some Christmas favorites. And the chapel is all dressed up for the holiday. | ||
