Brier Creek Commons will also offer free sleigh rides and will host Santa’s arrival during their annual tree lighting celebration.
The North Carolina Museum of History invites children ages 3 – 5 (with an adult) to join us for an educational program on December 1st and 8th from 10 – 10:45 a.m. From menorahs to Moravian stars, find out what different symbols of winter holidays mean. Make your own stenciled place mat to take home. To register, call 919-807-7992.

Costumed interpreters will decorate the kitchen in festive themes, such as holly and magnolia branches, cotton stalks, various fruits and cranberry and popcorn strands, and serve cookies and hot cider. Also on hand, costumed military interpreters will be available to discuss how
the common solider spent his time on furlough with friends and family. All demonstrations are subject to change without notice.

After his hit performance Tales of Light last year, Hobey Ford is back with another puppetry show—Rainbow Bridge & Other Tales. Known for his skillful storytelling and innovative puppetry, Ford brings to life three folktales through his unique style, combining stunning puppetry, storytelling and educational themes. It’s time for a brisk walk for some amazing art in Chatham County during the 17th annual studio tour continuing this Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 12–13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. More than 100 artists and artisans will show their wares including pottery, jewelry, crafts and tiles. Spend the day, nibbling on goat cheese, sipping on hot cider, shopping for holiday gifts and chatting with the artists about their work.

It’s time for a brisk walk for some amazing art in Chatham County during the 17th annual studio tour continuing this Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 12–13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. More than 100 artists and artisans will show their wares including pottery, jewelry, crafts and tiles. Spend the day, nibbling on goat cheese, sipping on hot cider, shopping for holiday gifts and chatting with the artists about their work.

October 3 through December 31, 2009.

Would you like a much needed parent's night out? THE KID DEPOT, Drop In Childcare will be hosting a parent's night every Friday and Saturday night. Saturday, December 12 will be a pizza party/movie night with lots of other fun activities for the kids while parents just get away for a while!

The Museum of History will be at the heart of the children’s celebration at this annual New Year’s Eve festival of the arts. Join us for the fun on December 31st from 2 – 6 p.m. for the children’s celebration and 7 -11 p.m. for the nighttime events. With a First Night pin or button, receive a $1 discount all day to the exhibit Knights of the Black Flag, which explores the legacy of pirates. The exhibit will be open until 10 p.m.
