Independence Day Celebration - Durham

Celebrate patriotism and civic pride with music and fireworks at Durham’s Independence Day festivities on Friday, July 4th. Please see the schedule of activities below:
Durham Bulls Athletic Park (DBAP), 409 Blackwell Street
5:30 p.m. Gates open (tickets required)
6 p.m. Opening act
7:30 p.m. Kevin Costner and Modern West
9 p.m.* Remarks by City of Durham officials
Light Up Durham “It’s Cool To Care” Awards Presentation
Presentation of colors by City of Durham Honor Guard
National Anthem by Light Up Durham Choir
9:30 p.m.* Fireworks

PLEASE NOTE: Because of recent development around the Durham Bulls Athletic Park, the fireworks will be shot from the baseball field, which will limit visibility from outside the stadium. The best visibility of the fireworks will be inside the ballpark. Outside the park there will be a limited viewing area near the northwest corner of the stadium on Blackwell Street. Gates will open for free admission prior to the fireworks display as space is available.
