July 4 Celebration - Brier Creek

The day-long event on Saturday, July 4th will begin at 10:00 am with a Sidewalk Sales at Brier Creek Commons and at Brierdale Shopping Center. Also from 10:00 until 2:00, Second Chance Animal Rescue will hold a Pet Adoption at Brierdale, which is located across Lumley Road from Brier Creek Commons.

The family fun really gets cranked up at Brierdale from 2:00-7:00 where Earth Fare will provide live entertainment; art vendors; a Stars and Stripes Sidewalk Art Contest; Pie and Watermelon eating contests, a Grilling Tent, and The American Kennel Club will be on hand giving obedience demonstrations and doing Canine Good Citizen Awards testing. Dogs who pass the test will be awarded red, white and blue bandanas and a certificate. Then you can swing by the Duke Medicine tent to sign up for a free bike helmet from the Duke Medical Plaza Brier Creek.

From 7:00 – 9:00 Y102.9 Radio will be on hand at Brierdale with Jim Harrison, and more food, more fun and more live music. Come out, enjoy the day’s festivities and stay around for the Fireworks Extravaganza which begins at dark. Afterwards, TraLi Irish Pub will continue the live entertainment and beer tent.
