Noah's Landing Junior Zookeeper Program

DSC08060.JPG

Have you ever wondered what types of fruit a vervet monkey likes
best? Or what it takes to care for a muntjac deer in captivity? This
summer, local kids are invited to go "behind the scenes" with the
animals at Noah's Landing for a series of summer camps and weekend
classes designed to teach the basics of animal care and zoology.

The Noah's Landing Junior Zookeeper program is a hands-on,
science-based day camp for aspiring animal lovers and caretakers that
teaches biology, zookeeping, and basic animal care. Each day has
a specific theme and kids are invited to take part in crafts, games,
guest speakers, and
hands-on science activities, such as dissections, around the theme.
Even better, they'll get
the chance to interact with the animals that call Noah's Landing home
during supervised volunteer time!

The Junior Zookeeper program is a "Create Your Camp" program.
Interested campers can choose to participate in a single day of
activities or receive discounted rates to attend throughout the summer.
Day camps are held June 29-July 3 and July 27-July 31. Classes are also
offered on weekends throughout the summer.

Every camper, no matter how many days they choose to attend, is
invited to a special "induction" on June 14 and a graduation on August
30.

 Noah's
Landing is a non-profit children's zoo dedicated to hands-on science
education. More than 60 species call Noah's Landing home, including a
Grant's zebra, fennec foxes, and a two-toed sloth.
