Smash It! Don't trash It! Even though pumpkins are biodegradable, lack of oxygen in the landfill prevents them from breaking down at a normal rate. If just 10 percent of all pumpkins sold this year were composted instead of being thrown out with the garbage, 100 million pounds of waste could be kept from the nation's landfills annually! Instead, come out to this exciting event as we turn those leftover Jack O Lanterns into compost!   DJ, snacks and prizes! There will be an opportunity to learn more about recycling and composting with the experts.
