At Ringling Shows they talks about their Center for Elephant Conservation in Florida where they say their elephants can retire and they get to roam and socialize to their heart's content. Untrue, according to Gary Jacobson head elephant trainer and manager of CEC, Jewell, Lutzi, Mysore, Zina, Susan, and all young male elephants are all chained on two legs on a concrete floor for 16 hours each day. They are not allowed free access to water and there is no place for them to swim. Once a male reaches the age of eight he is put behind bars forever because Ringling can no longer control him.
Elephants have been scientifically proven to be “human” in terms of intelligence, emotional family and friendship bonding, nurturing of one another, along with age progression, and expected life span.
The Human equivalent to the life of a circus elephants is a Human infant living on death row in prison.
Just Google, "Elephant Abuse" and you can see Ringling Bros Trainers hitting these elephants with a bullhook.
