How many kids experience the honor of knowing their grandparents well, much less their great-grandparents?  Our family has been blessed to know "Grandaddy", their great-grandfather.  There is something so incredibly valuable with children knowing their heritage, hearing the family stories and learning respect for the elderly.  Grandaddy is from a long lost generation where men were gentlemen, men were honorable, dedicated to their families, respectful of women and hardworking.  I want my son to soak up those values and swim against the flow of our entertainment soaked culture to become a strong man.  I want him to use his mind for something more than video games, mindless violence and lust.  This takes a great deal of dedication and work as parents, but the rewards will come if we hold fast through these days.  The days are long, but the years are short.
