A Daughter after my own heart

I knew from the moment she was born, she was destined for great things. It broke my heart learning her father did not feel the same way. He would much rather be else where than be a father to his own daughter and a husband to a wife, who not only did whatever he asked but supported his dreams as well. After leaving him and taking primary custody of our daughter, she has begun to improve her attitude. She began to appreciate herself and her companies of friends at school. I couldn't have asked for more as a mother.

I am originally from the Philippines. I emigrated here in the USA, March 1999. I enlisted in the United States Air Force in February 2000 and completed my service in 2004. During my time of service, I got married and have a daughter. Being a mother was challenging. I actually thought I was doing a good job of it. My daughter's father thought otherwise. I was discharged with Honors and a Disability of 40%. Long story short, I suffered Post Traumatic Syndrome Disorder. I moved to North Carolina in April 2004 to start a new life, but evidently became a victim of Domestic Violence.
