The Triangle is hardly Orange County, California, but there are a growing number of places to shred.

Wake County

Sk8-Cary Skate Park
Managed by the Town of Cary, the park includes a 12,000-square-foot outdoor street course made of rails, banks, grind ledges, quarter-pipes and half-pipes. Offers lessons and contests in the spring and fall.

Raleigh Skate Park
The City of Raleigh is working to build a skate park in northeast Raleigh. It's scheduled to open in 2009.

Wheels Family Fun Center
The center, which also includes roller skating, go-karts, miniature golf, batting cages and more, also has an outdoor skatepark.

Chapel Hill Skate Park
Chapel Hill Skate Park is a town park run by Vertical Urge, a skateboard shop next to Project 58 in North Raleigh.
