Year to year
As spring break approaches for college students, the desire to rapidly lose weight before spring break in conjunction with the desire to party during spring break can lead to a dangerous, preliminary form of disordered eating called Drunkorexia. Replacing food calories with alcohol calories is not only dangerous, it can be damaging to your overall health. For more information on drunkorexia or eating disorders in college, click here for a informative flyer from Eating Recovery Center. (www.eatingrecoverycenter.com/pdf/ERC_College_FIN.pdf)

Does everyone still know about infant stimulation activities. Because the "bible" How to Have a Smarter Baby was first published in the mid-80's and the commercialization of this research really took off in the 90's (i.e. black & white toys, mobiles, etc). I was wondering if any moms still follow the activities that were based on the original research?

I have been extremely unhappy with my childrens pediatrician and I am now looking for somewhere else to go. Can anyone recommend an office near Clayton, Smithfield, Knightdale or Wendell? Thank you so much.

I have two huge unopened cans of Infamil. My sweet neighbor gave me the cans to give to my sister but my sister can't use them for her daughter. I would like to donate them somewhere that could really use them. Thanks!!

When you searched for a pediatrician, what traits did you look for?

I'm mom to two young boys - 3.5 years and 5 months, and we're going to be relocating to the North Raleigh/Wake Forest area March 1st. Can anyone share some pediatricians they HIGHLY recommend? I really appreciate it! My 5 month old has some medical needs and I want to have a pediatrician in place right when we get there.
Thanks,
Lara

I am moving to the Triangle area, not sure exactly where. I have an autistic child and want to know which school district might havwe great reviews as far as special education goes? Wake county seems huge, but resourceful. Raleigh seems to have all the major services. What do the moms on here have to say about it?

Soiling in children is a common condition that is difficult for the child and the family. We are conducting a research study at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) to find out what parents think are the causes of soiling in their children and what kind of therapies and strategies they use to help their children with the soiling.
We are looking for parents of children 4-18 years old who regularly soil or poop in their underwear. You will be asked to complete the same online questionnaire twice, 2 weeks apart. You will be paid $10 for participation.

So, I came across this article today and sadly, it didn't surprise me. I've seen young girls out and about that are wearing makeup and heels and looking like mini "ladies of the night".
What is the point of this? Dressing up our little girls and allowing them to wear makeup and slutty clothes sets them up for the mental issues that this article talks about. I'm all about makeup and looking nice, but my girls are NOT wearing makeup until they are at least 14 or so.

Any thoughts?

There is growing concern about the safety of the cervical cancer vaccine and there have been numerous documented cases of injury and death in the US to girls that have receive the vaccine.
Any thoughts? Pros and cons? I'm always so hesitant to trust a new vaccine that has not had the advantage of being tested over time.
