When Two Became Three

To my husband and son,

I can’t believe this day is already here. What seems like just yesterday was five years ago. You both have given me all I have ever truly wanted in this life, being a wife and mother. I am so blessed to have such a great family to care for and love who reciprocates the same. By no means has it been easy, but every single second has been worth it all. Nothing in my life is more fulfilling than being a part of our family. The joy the two of you bring me is unmatched. My journey of motherhood is a beautiful story that I get to live every single day with the both of you.

DeAntony, you have been such a wonderful role model for our son. I love that you demand hugs and kisses from Preston every day. The relationship that the two of you have is a mother’s dream. I love and appreciate that you were the first person to pray with our son. I can’t tell you what that means to me. I love that you are teaching him how to be a great leader, husband, father and friend. And most importantly, you are showing him how to treat and care for our fellow man. You will forever be our son’s greatest influence and I am so grateful for that.

Preston (aka PAC Man), my love has no bounds for you. I will forever and always appreciate your timing and how much you have changed me. In the midst of a storm, you were our sunshine. You made me and daddy’s bond stronger, unbreakable even. Seeing you is like physically and emotionally looking into a mirror. I am so proud to be your mother. And I know that your sweet spirit is going to light up the world one day. I pray that God continues to cover you and order each of your steps. I believe parenthood will always be the greatest part of our lives because we were blessed with such an amazing little boy. We are better because of you.

Countless photos, experiences and memories have filled our hearts in these short five years and I look forward to many more with the both of you! That is all I want for us. To just be. Living and loving each other. Thank you both for giving me the sweet gift of motherhood. Today, we celebrate the day two became three… the day we became a family.
