Time For A New Uniform

Every morning, my Big Guy puts on his school uniform. My Little Guy puts on his uniform of choice - warm-up pants, a T-shirt and a hockey jersey. Then it is my turn. Running shirt, running shorts and running shoes. Hair in a ponytail. I check for toothpaste on my lips and I am off.

We Do Not Need A Parenting Class ... Or Do We?

Parent-teacher conferences are stressful. If your child is bright, gifted and perfect you wonder how they will possibly continue this streak. You wonder if he’ll be challenged enough at school and maybe a scholarship is not out of reach. I know it is only third grade, but you never know!

Great Family Event Supporting Pediatric Diabetes

I just wanted to let you know of a wonderful event that supports children with diabetes in our community. On Saturday morning, May 10th, St. Timothys School in Raleigh will host the Spring Sprint. This is a 5K Run / Walk and 1 Mile Fun run with ALL race proceeds being donated to the WakeMed Pediatric Diabetes Program. St. Timothy's is just the vehicle to get the funds to the right place.

Little Guy wanted to purchase a necklace, bracelet or ring…

See How We Run

Featured blogger Illyse Lane appears every Thursday. Nine years ago, my mornings were slow. I woke at 6:35 a.m. I slowly sipped a cup of hot coffee. I took time to dress for work, style my hair and apply a bit of make-up. Then, I took even more time to relax, read the newspaper and plan my day before walking out the door at 7:35.
