Raleigh's come out with its list of nature programs for the month of September. Most require pre-registration four days before the program. So plan now.
And if you're planning on heading out to the annual Halloween Trail at Durant Nature Park this October, be sure to register now. Like last year, you can't just show up to attend this very popular event.

Nicelodeon's ParentsConnect today announced this year's Parents' Picks Award winners from the Triangle.
ParentsConnect users in the Triangle voted online for their favorite businesses and resources and. Winners were selected from 150 local nominees. The winners will get a seal to display in their windows and will be featured on the site.

The N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences has extended its Chocolate exhibit for two more weeks. It's open through Sept. 20 now (was originally scheduled to close Sept. 7).
The exhibit, created by the Field Museum in Chicago, traces the history of chocolate and how its made, starting with the cacao trees in the rainforest.

Rex's Lactation Station is having a sale on nursing bras, books and a few other things.
I was over there this week to get my breast pump all set up and noticed they were cutting back on their inventory. Apparently they will be moving to smaller digs down the hall, which is too bad. I remember going there four years ago and being impressed by the amount of merchandise they had.
There's a new diaper store in town ... or at least in Morrisville.
Sue Stock reports that Karissa Binkley, a doula and owner of a diaper delivery service, will be opening a new shop called The Diapering Doula in Morrisville with diapers and other items. The store should open in October.
